Managing a chronic disease and the costs involved has been made easier with the introduction of a programme that allows the use of MediSave for chronic diseases.
The treatment for chronic diseases is costly when administered collectively over a long period of time.
As part of the national effort to improve the management of chronic diseases, the Ministry of Health has introduced the use of MediSave for Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP). The aim of CDMP is to improve the level of care and reduce the out-of-pocket healthcare cost for people with chronic diseases when they seek medical treatment in an outpatient setting.
The use of Medisave for CDMP applies to the following medical conditions:

Use of MediSave for Chronic Diseases
You can now use MediSave at participating clinics to pay for part of your outpatient treatment medical bills for the chronic conditions listed above.
MediSave is claimable for the following services:
- Medical consultations if you have been diagnosed with one of the identified chronic conditions under the CDMP and/or its complications.
- Relevant investigations (including laboratory and radiological procedures such as X-rays) for the evaluation of the identified chronic conditions and/or its complications.
- Medication for the management of the identified conditions and/or their complications.
- Allied health services such as nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietician and podiatry services that are referred by your doctor for your chronic conditions.
Two safeguards are in place under MediSave for CDMP:
1. Co-Payment
A co-payment of 15 percent on each outpatient bill.
2. Annual Withdrawal Limit
An annual withdrawal limit of $500 per MediSave account.
