By The Community, For A Healthier Community

SAHAM KESIHATAN

Our vibrant community has different interests, which is why we’ve created Saham Kesihatan in collaboration with M³@Towns, Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) and MENDAKI. Saham Kesihatan empowers you and your community to create tailored activities that promote healthy lifestyles. It includes fun-for-the-whole-family activities such as Futsal and Zumba, and even offers amenities to test blood glucose or cholesterol levels.

Complementing Healthier SG, Saham Kesihatan aims to boost health literacy and encourage physical and mental well-being, all while supporting the formation of community-led health interest groups. Read more about the programme here.

“I enjoy sharing my
experiences, recognising the
potential for self-
improvement, and taking
charge of my health.”
Dang Ayu Bte
Mohamed Aris
Mdm Dang Ayu’s health journey began after having two children and overcoming weight challenges through regular exercise. Since becoming a HPB Health Ambassador in 2013, she has dedicated herself to promoting health within the community. Whether at roadshows or guiding people through the Healthy 365 app, she actively shares health tips and leads by example — choosing healthier food options and incorporating all forms of exercise into her daily routine. Mdm Dang Ayu is now a model of positive change, inspiring others to embrace a healthier lifestyle.
“A collaborative spirit is
key to our goal of a
healthier community.”
Dr Muhammad
Faisal Bin Johandi
Dr Faisal Johandi has been a dedicated volunteer with the M³@Marsiling-Yew Tee team since 2019. As the Community Health Lead, he brings his expertise in geriatric medicine to life by organising healthy living activities for Malay residents in the Marsiling-Yew Tee area.

Partnering with HPB, he was instrumental in launching ‘Gaya Sihat @ Marsiling-Yew Tee’, a programme under Saham Kesihatan that fosters a supportive community focused on well-being. Ever optimistic, Dr Faisal is confident that, with HPB’s continued support, more health-focused activities can further enhance the well-being of residents, young and old.
“I want to encourage people
of all ages to exercise
regularly. It is important,
especially for seniors, to
avoid staying idle at home,
improve health and build
friendships.”
Hasnah Bte

For over 20 years, Mdm Hasnah has passionately advocated for active and healthy living. Leading the Senam Ria group since 1997, she’s dedicated to community well-being as a Chua Chu Kang MAEC member and through her work with local mosques. Saham Kesihatan at M3@Chua Chu Kang inspired her to integrate Senam Ria into the programme, and through her leadership in Malay dance, fitness classes, and health talks, she has empowered individuals to stay active, build connections, and gain health knowledge. Mdm Hasnah’s efforts have inspired many to live healthier, more connected lives.
“Empowering our community
with healthier choices today
paves the way for a stronger
and brighter tomorrow.”
Iylia Shukor
Driven by a commitment to address high diabetes rates in the Malay community, Mr Iylia launched health initiatives with support from various organisations. He organises monthly 5km brisk walks at Marine Parade and brings the community together through mass dance and monthly exercise activities as part of the Saham Kesihatan programme. Through a WhatsApp group, he shares health information and motivates youth to embrace healthier lifestyles. Mr Iylia’s passion for helping others is evident in his efforts to build meaningful, win-win partnerships that promote health as a cornerstone of a fulfilling life.
“Always strive to give your
best, as your contributions
will continue to make a
meaningful impact long after
your active involvement has
concluded.”
Mohd Imhar Bin
Mohd Said, PBM*

With nearly 50 years of service as a grassroots leader, Mr Imhar has been key in integrating weekly Zumba sessions for the Siglap Malay community into the Saham Kesihatan initiative. His passion for engaging residents has encouraged widespread participation in fun, active health activities. Working closely with Vice-Chairman Najib and a Zumba trainer, he has also organised hikes and health talks, seamlessly blending exercise and outings to help the community embrace a culture of healthy living.

energy, alleviates stress
and fosters community
bonding through activities
like Zumba classes at the
Community Club.”
Rahimah Bte
Maarof
Dedicated to her community’s well-being, Mdm Rahimah took the lead in the MacPherson Community Club’s Saham Kesihatan programme after she was introduced to this initiative by HPB. Her weekly Zumba Gold and Chair Zumba sessions highlight her commitment to promoting health. By organising activities and encouraging participation through her WhatsApp group, she has fostered a culture of healthy living, well-being and community bonding. As a HPB Health Ambassador, she shares valuable health knowledge, empowering her community to embrace healthier lifestyles.
“Age is no barrier to pursuing
optimal health. There are no
shortcuts; it takes time to
become a better, stronger and
fitter version of yourself.
Remember, slow progress is
still progress.”
Rahimah Bte
Mohamed Ibrahim
Mdm Rahimah’s health struggles began in 2019 with irregular eating and overeating. Determined to turn things around, she committed to better health through diet and exercise. By 2020, her hard work paid off, leading her to become a fitness trainer and HPB Health Ambassador. Her passion for wellness grew as she conducted exercise programmes, participated in roadshows, and became a HPB Quick HIIT trainer in 2021. Mdm Rahimah’s story has since inspired many to embrace healthier lifestyles with renewed energy and hope.
“It’s not just about the miles
we run or the healthy meals
we choose; it’s about the
laughter, shared struggles,
and small victories that bring
us together.”
