3 simple tips to care for yourself and loved ones when dining out.

Opt for meals with 500 kcal or less

Did you know your favourite meals can pack up to 800 kcal per serving? To keep your daily intake on track, consider swapping to a lower-calorie meal that is around 500 kcal. When dining out, keep an eye out for the Healthier Dining Programme identifier to enjoy meals cooked with healthier oil, wholegrains, or are lower in calories.

Make the switch to wholegrains

Eating healthier does not mean giving up on local delights. Simply switch to wholegrains such as mixed brown rice as it may lower the risk of heart diseases, diabetes and certain cancers. It can also help with weight management as it leaves you feeling full for a longer period. You can do the same for noodles, too! Next time you order mee siam, mee rebus and mee goreng, go for wholegrains.

Pair your meals with lower sugar drinks

Paying attention to our drinks is one way we can cut down on excess sugar and calories. It is best to bring along a bottle of water wherever you go and make it the default option to pair with your meals. If you are buying flavoured drinks, choose lower sugar options, or ask for ‘less sweet’, so that you can continue to enjoy your favourite beverages while staying healthy.
